Position Summary Fives Lund LLC is actively seeking a full‑time Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Seattle, Washington.
This role serves as a technical resource for researching, developing and designing custom‑engineered solutions for advanced equipment across several highly technical industries.
Responsibilities
Maintain subject matter knowledge through additional training and experience in areas such as Materials & Mechanisms, Finite Element Analysis, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Welding & Joining, and other machine design topics.
Utilize engineering and physics principles to design and develop industrial machinery.
Use 3D CAD systems to generate mechanical designs, create assemblies, and produce drawings.
Perform Finite Element Analysis using programs such as ANSYS.
Use PDM and ERP systems to manage system schematics.
Provide support and guidance to technicians during machine integration; may assist with hands‑on assembly within the shop and at customer locations.
Troubleshoot and debug industrial mechanical systems.
Support management in developing concepts and proposals, including performing concept feasibility analysis, project schedule input, and estimated cost input.
Act as a mentor to Level I and Level II mechanical engineers.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering (required).
7+ years of engineering experience (preferred).
PE certification is a plus.
Experience in machinery design, structural analysis, hydraulics, pneumatics preferred.
Experience with SolidWorks is a plus.
Ability to identify potential problems and propose mitigation solutions.
Ability to decompose and analyze complex systems.
Ability to develop designs that meet stakeholder requirements within provided schedule and budget.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Attention to detail.
Solid computer skills and experience.
