The Opportunity UCF’s Burnett Honors College is seeking a Director, Academic Program to join our team. The Director leads BHC undergraduate research initiatives, the HUT program, and the Inspire Scholars Program, and is responsible for all programs and activities housed within the Burnett Honors College Office of Honors Research and Engagement. The position reports to the Senior Associate Dean of the Burnett Honors College and ensures alignment with university policies, supports robust student engagement, and strengthens partnerships across campus and within the community. A key part of the role is meeting regularly with students to guide them through research pathways, HUT requirements, and Inspire Scholars mentoring and co‑curricular opportunities.
Responsibilities
Provide program leadership for the HUT program and Inspire Scholars, including coordination with Take Stock in Children.
Meet with students to advise on research opportunities, HUT requirements, and Inspire Scholars support and engagement resources.
Promote and oversee undergraduate research by engaging with students, faculty, and managing research‑related opportunities and partnerships across campus and in the community.
Prepare reports and perform data analysis that inform planning, assessment activities, program improvements, and the college’s long‑term strategic goals.
Collaborate with university offices involved with undergraduate research.
Represent BHC on college and university committees related to undergraduate research, student engagement, and access initiatives.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and 8+ years of relevant experience, including 3+ years of leadership experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree from an accredited institution.
Demonstrated experience working with high‑achieving or honors students in a higher education setting.
Proven leadership in managing academic or student success programs, including coordination of multiple concurrent initiatives.
Experience supporting undergraduate research through teaching, program oversight, or student mentorship.
Demonstrated success in cultivating strategic partnerships with faculty, campus units, and community organizations to advance academic initiatives.
Proficiency in using data, assessment, and reporting to inform continuous program improvement and strategic planning.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to guide students through complex academic processes and effectively present to varied audiences.
Special Instructions to the Applicants The anticipated salary range for this position is $64,518 – $80,648. The final salary will be determined based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations.
This position may require occasional evening or weekend hours based on business needs.
