Scope of Work IPT-Level role, member of SW Design Team. The Sr. Principal Software Engineer focuses on handling, storing, processing, and visualizing large amounts of data within a complex multi‑segment system. The engineer supports the software design team lead, partners with other engineering functions, and advances the segment toward critical engineering reviews and milestones such as SRR, SFR, SDR, PDR, CDR, SVR, and TRR.
This position will serve on‑site at our Redondo Beach, CA location. The role is contingent upon acquiring and maintaining the necessary US Government security clearance per customers’ requirements.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline – 5 years of experience with a Bachelor's, 3 years with a Master's, 1 year with a PhD.
Experience with Object Oriented Analysis and Software Design Principles and Design Patterns.
Experience designing software to handle large amounts of structured or unstructured data.
Experience implementing requirements & interface definitions in software, performing code and unit testing.
Familiarity with Model‑Based Systems Engineering languages (SysML/UML) and concepts.
Excellent written and oral communication skills with strong technical briefing skills.
Current Active DoD Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with Polygraph prior to start.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with full software lifecycle: specification, design, implementation, integration, debug and maintenance.
Understanding of interaction between different software and hardware components and subsystems; understanding of computer architecture.
Data and Visualization tools: SharePoint, Elasticsearch, MariaDB, MongoDB, Tableau, Grafana, Prometheus.
Experience with development and environment tools, e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, Node.js, Jupyter Notebooks, Cypress, Visual Studio, Python, C/C++.
Experience with application management tools, e.g. GitLab, Nexus, Trivy, SonarQube, Doxygen.
Familiarity with Project & Task Management tools, e.g. Jira or Confluence, and agile methodologies.
Experience with hardware/software integration, test planning & execution, or operational support.
Compensation & Benefits Primary Level Salary Range:
$110,300.00 - $165,500.00. Salary determination considers scope, responsibilities, candidate experience, education, skills, and market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses. Additional benefits include health insurance, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company paid holidays, and paid time off.
