Commercial Lines Account Executive (NC hybrid/remote) An Aon company, NFP, a multiple Best Places to Work award winner, is seeking a Commercial Lines Account Executive for a hybrid or remote role based in Charlotte, NC. The position focuses on building and maintaining relationships with client and carrier representatives while managing a book of business ranging from middle market to larger insurance clients.

Job Summary The Commercial Lines Account Executive interacts with clients daily, preparing applications, specifications, and marketing strategies for new business and renewals. The role requires maintaining client retention, providing quality service, and cross‑selling within the existing book with oversight from management.

Deliver prompt, accurate, and courteous service to all customers.

Increase revenue by rounding out commercial lines accounts, negotiating pricing and coverage terms in the client’s best interest.

Develop relationships that lead to new business sales.

Essential Core Duties And Responsibilities

Create complete marketing submissions including client coverage needs, gathering exposure data, researching property, vehicle and equipment values through serial numbers, replacement cost assessments, client invoices and/or tax and financial data.

Review prior policies and analyze coverage gaps and enhancements for new business opportunities.

Complete applications (Acord, specialty, supplemental) for new and renewal business, ensuring full completion of all necessary data.

Analyze historical data (payroll, revenue, employee count, etc.) to discuss pricing and coverage options with carriers and clients.

Review prior claim history and explain catastrophic losses that have been corrected with risk‑management enhancements.

Utilize carrier appetites and market climate to advise Producers on eligible markets and develop market rapport with carriers.

Ensure carriers receive complete, accurate, and timely information for account assessment.

Prepare client proposals from carrier quotes, highlighting coverage gaps or differences and presenting accurate terms, pricing, and renewal comparisons.

Collaborate with account assistants, account managers, and Producers to meet client needs.

Perform technical and clerical functions for the assigned book to meet insurance service needs, including new business initiation as directed by the Producer.

Maintain proficiency in policy review, limits, coverages, program design, solvency issues, and excess & surplus lines placements.

Create summaries, schedules, and proposals for account reviews and handle renewal activities.

Maintain diary alerts and follow‑ups with clients and carriers to ensure deliverables are met.

Analyze loss run/claim history reports, including ModMaster.

Pursue professional development opportunities such as continuing education and designations.

Adhere to state laws and regulations regarding insurance agents, including licensing and continuing education.

Assist with or complete other tasks as directed by agency management.

Desired Skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office with intermediate to advanced Excel and Word skills.

Strong analytical and mathematical abilities.

Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.

Attention to detail and a sense of urgency with follow‑through.

Education And/or Experience

Property and casualty insurance license required upon hire.

Typically, more than 5 years of Commercial Lines and industry experience.

Mastery of commercial insurance underwriting, coverage, and rate analysis.

In‑depth knowledge of insurance coverages and the ability to communicate clearly to clients and underwriters.

Understanding of marketplace trends and best practices to meet client needs.

Strong negotiation skills and ability to prioritize and self‑manage workload.

Experience with EPIC or other CRM preferred.
