Position Overview:

The Senior Vice President of Human Resources will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for shaping and executing a comprehensive people strategy that supports the company’s growth goals. Reporting directly to the President, this individual will provide both strategic and hands‑on leadership across all areas of human resources — including organizational design, talent acquisition, employee engagement, safety, compliance, training and development, and total rewards.

This role is ideal for a business‑minded HR leader who thrives in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial manufacturing environment and can balance strategic vision with operational execution.

Key Responsibilities:

Partner with the President and executive team to align the people strategy with organizational objectives.

Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership and family stakeholders, guiding change, communication, and succession planning.

Lead organizational design and workforce planning to support expansion and scalability.

Rebuild and elevate the talent acquisition function to attract high‑performing leaders and skilled operators.

Design and implement training programs that strengthen technical and leadership capabilities.

Establish development frameworks that clarify roles, expectations, and success factors for employees.

Foster a culture balancing operational excellence with approachability — a “polo and jeans” environment with strong performance expectations.

Lead engagement initiatives that promote collaboration and connection across both facilities.

Oversee HR operations across two facilities, including payroll, benefits, and employee relations.

Maintain a proactive compliance environment, particularly regarding wage‑and‑hour practices.

Partner with Safety Leaders to strengthen safety programs and ensure full regulatory compliance.

Enhance HR systems (Sage, Navision) to support growth and efficiency.

Oversee compensation and benefits programs to ensure competitiveness and alignment with company goals.

Implement performance management systems that reinforce clarity, accountability, and development.

Partner with Finance and auditors to support HR transparency and compliance.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).

12+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, including 5+ years in a VP or senior leadership role within manufacturing or a related sector.

Experience leading HR for a multi‑site organization; family‑owned or privately held experience preferred.

Strong knowledge of California and multi‑state employment law.

Proven success improving HR functions, including recruitment, compliance, and training programs.

Strong communication, relationship‑building, and leadership skills.

Hands‑on leadership style with the ability to lead strategy and execution.

SHRM‑SCP or SPHR preferred.
