As the Branch Manager atMike’s Westside Rental (MWR), you’ll lead one of Texas’s fastest-growing, locally owned equipment rental companies. In this key leadership role, you’ll oversee all daily operations of our upcoming Waco branch, ensuring it runs efficiently, profitably, and with the genuine customer care that sets this Texas-owned company apart from national chains. You’ll manage the branch team, maintain a ready-to-rent fleet, and deliver exceptional service to our contractors, builders, and industrial clients across Waco and surrounding areas. This position offers an opportunity to build a team from the ground up, shape the branch culture, and directly contribute to MWR’s growth and success.
The Job Branch Operations & Fleet Management
Oversee all aspects of daily branch operations including rental counter, scheduling, fleet management, and logistics.
Maintain all equipment to MWR’s “rental ready” standard through strong preventative and corrective maintenance programs.
Partner with shop and field service teams to ensure timely repairs, safety compliance, and minimal downtime.
Monitor fleet utilization, service intervals, and equipment condition to maximize branch performance.
Keep the branch organized, clean, and aligned with MWR’s safety and quality expectations.
Build and maintain relationships with local contractors, municipalities, and industrial partners.
Drive branch revenue by promoting MWR’s full line of equipment and services.
Handle key customer accounts, jobsite visits, and ensure prompt resolution of issues.
Provide professional, friendly service with the “Texas-owned and operated” hospitality our customers appreciate.
Leadership & Team Development
Hire, train, and mentor a high-performing team including counter staff, drivers, and mechanics.
Lead by example with professionalism, accountability, and safety-first leadership.
Foster a positive branch culture where teamwork, pride, and customer service thrive.
Conduct performance reviews, set goals, and celebrate wins.
Manage branch P&L, budgets, and expense controls to ensure profitability.
Track rentals, work orders, damage claims, and collections in accordance with company procedures. \ Ensure compliance with company policies, DOT, OSHA, and all safety standards.
Collaborate with Operations Support, Safety, and HR to maintain alignment with companywide initiatives.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
Minimum 5 years of experience in rental, construction, or equipment operations—preferably in a leadership role.
Strong mechanical knowledge of construction and industrial equipment.
Proven ability to lead teams, manage operations, and deliver exceptional service.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Must pass pre-employment drug screening and Background Check
Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work both indoors and outdoors as needed.
