The Sustainable Partnership
A rapidly scaling private energy developer is hiring a Commercial Counsel to help lead complex contracting across major US infrastructure projects. The work spans project development, major equipment supply, construction delivery, long‑term offtake/commercial arrangements and vendor partnerships, supporting the build and operation of first‑of‑kind power assets.
You'll operate in a small team with high ownership, taking the lead on negotiations and helping structure commercial frameworks that move projects from concept to delivery to generation. This is not a slow advisory seat; it is hands‑on, cross‑functional and central to revenue, delivery and deployment.
What you will lead on
Negotiation and drafting of large commercial agreements (build, supply, operations, offtake)
Supporting project, finance, procurement and development teams end to end
Creating contract structures that balance risk with delivery velocity
Managing external counsel for specialist regulatory/siting matters
Building frameworks that enable scale, repeatability and faster deployment
Helping refine contract processes & deal workflows across the organization
What we’re looking for
6+ years post‑qualification experience
Strong grounding in complex commercial contracting, ideally in infrastructure/energy/technology
Able to negotiate material project and supply‑side agreements confidently
Comfortable advising non‑lawyers and operating with pace
Generalist mindset with commercial instincts, not a narrow technical specialist
Must be able to work on site 5 days per week (location options available)
Experience with large construction, power generation assets or cross‑border deals is advantageous.
Why this is compelling You’ll be part of a team deploying tangible energy systems, not just advising from the sidelines. Deals get built fast.
If you are open to a confidential conversation, message me directly.
Interview windows are being booked up quickly.
