Product Owner II, Digital Content Solutions
Pay range: $123,000.00/yr - $174,000.00/yr
The role sits within the Digital Content Solutions portfolio which is part of the Data & Analytics Domain. The Product Owner will work on the Publishing capability supporting the business with template creation and amendments in the Inspire application (iDOCs). The PO will directly collaborate with business stakeholders and other POs across Business Agility to define, prioritise and deliver key business outcomes. As a member of the Agile team, the Product Owner II represents the voice of the customer and the organisation through the delivery of business value, working closely with stakeholders (business and technology) and Line of Business leadership to define and prioritise features and stories, ensuring alignment with customer needs and organisational goals. This person understands customers’ problems in detail and ensures the problems are clearly defined, prioritised and the squad/team is focused on the most valuable work. The Product Owner II is a constant communicator with stakeholders to maintain an aligned understanding of how the squad/team can provide the highest value to the customer through the portfolio lens, collaborating with squads, teams, technologies and architects across portfolios to develop a deep understanding of the technologies and systems they support.
Responsibilities
Collaborate to create product vision and align with strategic priorities with stakeholders.
Contribute to the development of the portfolio vision.
Communicate product and portfolio vision to squad/team and other squads/teams outside the portfolio or functional area.
Accountably develop and achieve product‑level KPIs with the squad/team.
Manage product(s) with a moderate degree of strategy, scope and complexity.
Own and maintain the product backlog and be accountable for its contents and prioritisation.
Ensure clear, actionable user stories.
Set priorities and actively participate in squad/team quarterly planning.
Collaborate with senior Product Owners to set priorities for portfolio quarterly planning.
Set expectations with stakeholders for delivery of new capabilities, features and functionalities.
Participate in squad/team demos, retrospectives and all other ceremonies.
Work daily with the agile group, clarifying business requirements, removing roadblocks and supporting alignment around product strategy.
Collaborate with IT and business leadership to align development and business goals and priorities while removing roadblocks to execution.
Resolve open issues and questions quickly and efficiently.
Monitor and maintain product health, supporting long‑term viability and balancing short‑ and long‑term costs with desired outcomes.
Analyse and report on feasibility, cost of delay ramifications, economies and other aspects of planned or potential changes.
Understand regulatory, compliance and industry constraints on the product and prioritise accordingly.
Negotiate with internal and external squads/teams to align priorities across squads/teams both within and outside the portfolio.
Collaboratively build the squad/team product roadmap and contribute to strategy inputs from stakeholders.
May contribute to program/portfolio level planning.
Influence stakeholder expectations for delivery of new capabilities, features and functionalities.
Communicate expected value and any changes in value per iteration (sprint, monthly, quarterly, etc.) based on squad/team‑determined capacity.
Lead customer‑driven design and usability testing for the squad/team.
Collaborate on CDD and UT across the portfolio.
Ensure a well‑positioned product through market and industry analysis.
Qualifications
Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and IT project management typically acquired through a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and a minimum of 3‑5 years direct experience with agile teams, plus 7 years in business, technology or consulting.
Able to depict and explain complex ideas, issues and designs to varied audiences; educate SBU/department(s) on business vision, plan and impact of change.
Able to influence a diverse group of stakeholders; strong leadership skills.
Able to make difficult and quick decisions daily.
Strong problem‑solving skills with a demonstrated ability to lead a team to push solutions and progress.
Experience in the insurance industry preferred.
Knowledge of relevant products and portfolio preferred.
Strong experimental mindset to drive innovation amidst uncertainty.
Considerations Candidates located within 50 miles of hub locations are required to be in‑office 2 days a week.
