Job Description
JOB TITLE: Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
REPORTS TO: Executive Director of Special Education
General Description The North Andover Public Schools is seeking a district Board Certified Behavior Analyst. The BCBA will work under the supervision of the Director of Special Education and designated special education personnel. The BCBA will be responsible for developing and implementing behavior interventions and related data collection procedures for children to help increase their academic, social and communication skills while also decreasing challenging behaviors both in school and in the home setting.
The Board Certified Behavior Analyst may also provide consultation and training to in-home staff when necessary by providing training in ABA strategies. Collaboration with home service cases will include collaborating with families, determining staffing needs, and oversight of staff.
We are seeking a Master’s level candidate with experience working with students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum disorder. Extensive knowledge, training and experience with the theories of Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) as well as Discrete Trial Training (DTT). Ability to read, write, and implement lesson plans, as well as collect data in a one-to-one situation, small group, inclusion, and community settings. Candidates will regularly work on functional skills in various settings. Working knowledge of assistive technology and augmentative and alternative communication systems for students preferred (iPads and apps such as Proloquo2Go, TouchChat). Knowledge of FBA’s, BIPs, and assessments (ABLLS-R/VB-MAPP/AFLS). Experience with IEP writing and basic special education regulation knowledge. In addition to the coordination of home services, the position will be responsible for overseeing a caseload of children district wide.
Responsibilities
Consulting with team members about behavior plans, curriculum modifications and accommodations and providing staff with resources, tools, and in-class modeling of techniques
Developing and overseeing behavior plans for in-classroom implementation and assessing progress of effectiveness of behavior plans and curriculum modifications
Ensuring timely completion of progress reports and graphed data
Conducting evaluations as needed
Ensuring behavioral strategies are implemented consistently and accurately across settings
Qualifications Master’s Degree & BCBA certification
