Overview The Department of Biomedical Engineering at The Johns Hopkins University invites applications for tenure‑track faculty positions in Biomedical Data Science. Candidates applying at the ranks of Associate Professor and Professor should refer to https://apply.interfolio.com/177763.

The search seeks exceptional candidates whose research lies at the interface of artificial intelligence, data science, and biomedical engineering, and who will strengthen and expand our core expertise in biomedical data science.

Research Focus Areas of particular interest include:

Algorithms for large‑scale biomedical data analysis

Computational biomedical imaging

Computational omics

Foundation models

Biomarker discovery

Data‑driven methods in regenerative medicine

Computational hypothesis generation

Causal and statistical inference for biomedical systems

Large language or sequence modeling in biomedical problems

Responsibilities As a faculty member, you will be expected to:

Develop and apply innovative AI and machine learning methods that yield new insights or solutions to challenges in medicine, healthcare, epidemiology, or public health.

Lead a strong, independent, multidisciplinary and internationally recognized research program.

Teach undergraduate and graduate courses with a commitment to excellence.

Engage in service to the department, university, and broader academic community.

Qualifications

Ph.D. in a relevant field.

Demonstrated record of excellence in research, with achievements in AI and data science.

Prior experience leading a multidisciplinary research program.

Commitment to teaching excellence at undergraduate and graduate levels.

Compensation & Benefits Salary range for Assistant Professors: $150,000 – $200,000 for a 12‑month FTE. Compensation may vary based on experience, qualifications, and market factors.
