Summary As an Account Executive in Mid, Large, and Strategic Market segments, you will support consultants in managing client accounts by researching, analyzing, and evaluating medical, dental, life and disability benefits plans and programs for employers. The expectation at this level is that the Account Executive will exercise more independent thinking and be able to complete projects with little guidance from consultants. Often, tasks are time sensitive and the employee may be working under intense deadlines and pressure.

Responsibilities

Data entry and analysis – assist the consulting team in gathering, organizing, entering and analyzing data using Excel spreadsheets for various client projects; focus on results analysis and managing portions of projects, including reviewing the work of lower‑level analysts.

Marketing efforts – gather benchmarking, utilization or rate data from vendors via RFP; interpret the data and summarize responses in Excel or PowerPoint for client presentation.

Plan design consolidation – gather client and vendor data to analyze the impact of plan consolidation; organize and summarize plan design details and costs in Excel; check data for reasonableness and follow up with vendors for missing or inaccurate data.

Cost projections and vendor renewal workups – populate Excel spreadsheets with client/vendor data for cost projections and vendor renewal evaluations; used in renewal and budget meetings.

Tracking claims experience – gather client and vendor data and check for reasonableness; analyze actual vs expected healthcare costs using an Excel template; results sent to clients monthly or quarterly.

Understand Health and Benefits products, services and tools – learn vendor/carrier markets, underwriting, financial skills, health & benefit products, services, tools, and intranet resources through training and learning from colleagues.

Project management & consulting skills – manage quality and timeliness of deliverables; help develop budgets and billing reports; participate in client calls and meetings as appropriate; delegate and review junior colleagues’ work; prepare and deliver client‑friendly communications; develop and present benchmarking reports using national survey data and standardized templates.

Requirements

BA/BS preferred.

Three to five years of industry experience required.

Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of MS Office Tools (Excel, PowerPoint).

Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.

Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a demanding environment.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Required to obtain and maintain appropriate licenses as required by state regulations and NFP policies.

Availability to travel as needed.

Life & Health License required.

The base salary range for this position is $56,000 – $110,000. The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case‑by‑case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance‑based incentives.
