We’re seeking a
Senior Network Engineer
to take a lead role in designing, implementing, and supporting the core network and telephony infrastructure across our credit union. This position focuses on architecture, performance optimization, security, and large-scale network projects that support our headquarters, multiple data centers, branches, and ATM networks. You will work with Cisco, Palo Alto, F5, and other advanced technologies while owning complex deployments, migrations, and upgrades. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in project-driven environments and enjoys leading technical initiatives from the ground up. Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and support wired and wireless networks across corporate, data center, branch, and ATM environments. Lead network architecture, configuration, and optimization efforts. Deploy complex network projects independently, including greenfield builds and major system enhancements. Maintain and upgrade network hardware, software, and security posture across Cisco, Palo Alto, and F5 systems. Troubleshoot advanced routing, switching, and firewall configurations. Monitor network performance, identify issues, and recommend corrective actions. Support remote connectivity solutions with proper authentication and security controls. Partner with auditors to address security requirements and maintain regulatory compliance. Stay current on emerging network technologies, vulnerabilities, and best practices. Required Qualifications
7 years of experience in network engineering, administration, or infrastructure support. Strong hands‑on experience with
Cisco routers, switches, firewalls
, and
Palo Alto firewalls . Deep knowledge of routing and switching protocols (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, VLANs, VPN, DMVPN). Experience deploying network projects from scratch and leading implementations independently. Proficiency with firewall conversions, WAN redesign, public IP migration, and hardware refresh projects. Experience with F5 technologies (LTM, APM, iRules, load balancing) preferred. Knowledge of network security tools (IPS/IDS, port security, packet analysis, AAA, TACACS). Working knowledge of VMware for virtualized network appliances. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent work experience. Relevant certifications such as
CCNP, CCDP, CCSP, or F5 CTS-LTM
preferred.
What We’re Looking For
Senior-level network expertise beyond day-to-day operations and ticket handling. Strong project deployment experience‑leading implementations independently is a must. Ability to manage complex technical challenges and recommend long-term solutions. Solid communication skills and comfort working across teams and with vendors. Willingness to be on-site one day per week and participate in an on-call rotation. Work Environment & Schedule
