Associate Director, MBA Career Advising & Education Stanford Graduate School of Business, Stanford, CA • Full-time • Hybrid (Onsite 2‑5 days per week, virtual remainder)

Join Stanford’s Career Management Center (CMC) to design and deliver career services that empower first‑ and second‑year MBA students, recent graduates, and alumni to succeed in corporate, institutional, and entrepreneurial finance.

Primary Responsibilities

Develop, manage, and deliver virtual and in‑person programs that educate first and second‑year MBA students on career transitions, job search strategies, and career management topics to help students and alumni achieve their career goals.

Provide expertise in corporate/institutional finance career management topics, serving as facilitator, panel participant, webinar host, and more.

Coach and advise first and second‑year MBA students and recent graduates 1:1 on career transition strategy, balancing career and life, career storytelling, networking, career search tactics, negotiation, and more.

Manage career education content delivery across platforms including MyGSB, Canvas, and CareerHub.

Collaborate with MBA Career Advising and Education team members, the broader CMC team, and key partner groups across GSB.

Collect, manage, and analyze student and alumni data to understand career needs and evaluate the effectiveness of our offerings.

Required Qualifications

10+ years navigating a business career in corporate settings.

Demonstrated expertise in career management and career transitions, ideally within a higher education setting.

Exceptional presentation skills, including development of high‑quality visual presentations (Google Slides) and verbal presentation and facilitation skills.

Exceptional interpersonal and verbal communication skills, including confidence in engaging with GSB students, alumni, and stakeholders.

Exceptional level of attention to detail and follow‑through with the ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work successfully in a fast‑paced environment.

Experience with data pulls, data analysis, reporting, and survey tools to develop insights.

Ability to own projects from start‑to‑finish, defining and executing business processes, and to evaluate and improve existing projects and processes.

Ability to manage differing interests of stakeholders and create a collaborative environment where everyone feels heard and considered.

Demonstrated sound judgment in situations requiring sensitivity & confidentiality.

Four‑year college degree.

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced degree; MBA is preferred.

Knowledge of career development resources, including self‑assessment, networking, resumes, cover letters, interviews, offer evaluation, and negotiation strongly preferred.

Co‑Active or similar coach training or equivalent experience desired.

Compensation & Benefits Compensation range for this position (100% FTE) is

$129,271

to

$175,000

per annum for Stanford Work Locations. Base pay represents only one aspect of the comprehensive rewards package.
