Arizona College of Nursing is seeking an experienced, Masters or Doctorate‑prepared nursing professional to join our full‑time faculty team. Responsibilities
Develop, implement, teach, and evaluate the philosophy and objectives of the nursing education program.
Design, implement, teach, and revise curriculum.
Document actions taken in faculty and committee meetings for program review.
Lead simulation learning experiences in the Nursing Lab.
Responsible for teaching and evaluating students in the classroom; teach at least 36 credits annually.
Design an effective learning environment that facilitates student learning on contemporary issues in nursing.
Support students’ academic progression and socialization into the nursing profession.
Utilize a variety of assessment tools to evaluate student learning.
Participate in systematic curriculum design, program evaluation, and program revision.
Serve as a mentor to faculty, adjuncts, and students, demonstrating leadership and continuous professional development.
Act as an advisor to a group of core nursing students, contacting advisees at least once a semester via in‑person, phone, and electronic communication.
Develop student success plans and remediate at‑risk students.
Oversee instruction and grading of clinical adjuncts.
Facilitate application of theory to clinical practice, attend hospital‑based orientations, and maintain knowledge of program outcomes and course objectives.
Communicate effectively with clinical agency representatives, staff, faculty, and students.
Identify and communicate clinical concerns to Course Lead Faculty and recommend solutions.
Provide weekly communication to Course Lead Faculty regarding student progress and clinical issues.
Grade clinical papers and provide timely, clear feedback.
Maintain records on student performance, including Student Success Plans and disciplinary plans.
Complete clinical site evaluations and uphold policies of Arizona College of Nursing and clinical facilities.
Plan, teach, and evaluate classroom, clinical, skills labs, and other learning experiences in collaboration with team members.
Connect students to college resources for their success.
Coach students on soft skills, leadership, ethics, communication, critical thinking, teamwork, and accountability.
Maintain a campus presence and contribute positively to campus culture.
Provide input to develop, evaluate, and revise program policies through governance structures.
Participate in faculty meetings, in‑service offerings, and nursing events, upholding FERPA guidelines.
All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Graduate degree required; if not in nursing, a Bachelor’s in nursing plus a graduate degree in a related discipline from an accredited program.
Minimum of three (3) years’ work experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care.
Prior teaching experience in a registered nursing program is preferred.
Current, unencumbered state professional registered nurse license or equivalent compact nurse licensure relevant to the teaching location.
Certified Nurse Educator certification and national certification in a nursing specialty are preferred.
Demonstrated professional competence through practice, continuing education, conferences, workshops, research, and writing.
Subject to state BON/BRN/HEB regulation(s) where the campus/student is located.
