Position Summary We are seeking a strategic and operational
AVP, Procurement Operations
to optimize our organization’s procure-to-pay processes. This role is a pivotal part of MVW’s new operating model and is integral to the procurement lifecycle, ensuring efficient P2P processes, effective contract compliance, mitigating third‑party risk, and fostering strong relationships with our most strategic suppliers. Reporting to the VP of Procurement Operations, this leadership position will drive day‑to‑day management and continuous improvement of procurement processes, systems and teams. The role focuses on operational excellence, leveraging AI and automation to drive transactional efficiency and enhance strategic value to build a world‑class, data‑driven procurement organization. The Procurement Operations team sits alongside Strategic Sourcing, Supplier Performance and the Procurement Center of Excellence, all reporting to the group’s Head of Procurement.
Expected Contributions Strategic Leadership
Develop and execute a comprehensive procurement operations strategy to support the needs of MVW’s Resort Operations team and align with their organizational goals.
Provide expert knowledge and insights optimizing the Coupa Business Spend Management Platform with a goal of streamlining and standardizing procedures under a new operating model.
Deliver strategic leadership, managing the implementation of intelligent systems, and driving business outcomes through AI‑powered insights.
Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing procurement team, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
Procurement Operations
Lead a procurement transformation effort spearheading the transition from manual, reactive processes to a proactive, data‑driven operational model. Oversee the integration of AI tools across all aspects of the procurement life cycle, from requests to payment.
Identify opportunities for risk mitigation and value creation along the supply chain.
Capture savings through compliance with negotiated savings through preferred suppliers and cost‑efficient buying channels.
Manage supplier catalogs within the Coupa platform to ensure accuracy, availability, and alignment with company needs.
Monitor adherence to procurement policies and ensure alignment with regulatory and corporate standards.
Collaborate with category and business unit leaders, globally, to establish improvement plans as needed.
Supplier Relationship Management
Support a low‑touch efficient supplier qualification and onboarding process that fosters strong on‑going relationships with critical suppliers.
Work with the Procurement Center of Excellence team to build comprehensive dashboards that deliver insights into supplier spend, weekly performance KPIs and risk factors.
Understand market dynamics and collaborate with stakeholders to develop and execute supply‑chain risk mitigation initiatives.
Candidate Profile Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business, Finance, or a related field. An MBA or other advanced degree is preferred.
8+ years of experience in procurement, supply‑chain or a related field with increasing responsibility, with at least 3 years in a leadership role in a large complex organization.
Expertise in Procurement Operations, process optimization, and supplier relationship management.
Extensive knowledge of the Coupa Business Spend Management Platform, with specific focus on automation.
Proven ability to manage complex issues and resolve disputes effectively.
Skills And Knowledge
Strong experience leading procurement teams, pulling together various stakeholders across services and functions to create one enterprise voice in the relationship.
AI literacy with deep understanding of different AI technologies (e.g., ML, NLP, generative AI) and their practical applications in a procurement context strongly desired.
Data proficiency with strong analytical skills and experience in leveraging data analytics to generate insights to drive strategic decisions.
The ability to move beyond day‑to‑day operations and use AI to build a forward‑looking, agile procurement function that creates business value.
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to lead a team, evaluate competing objectives, and prioritize multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment with attention to detail.
Certifications (Preferred)
ISM Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or equivalent
Coupa Certification
