Position Overview The Substance Abuse Counselor will assist patients through medically assisted treatments and offer techniques for handling opioid use. Counselor conducts individual and group sessions to assist with crisis management and coping strategies. The counselor evaluates patient progress and collaborates with doctors, nurses and other counselors to achieve improved outcomes.

Responsibilities

Provide individual and group counseling services; direct service hours at regularly scheduled intervals; coordinate all services throughout treatment.

Complete a Bio‑psychosocial assessment.

Facilitate the initial treatment plan and establish it with each patient.

Develop after‑care and discharge plans.

Ensure efficient and effective delivery of counseling services to all patients.

Other related duties as determined by supervisor.

Qualifications

Certified Counselor in the State of California.

Previous experience working with chemically dependent individuals is a plus.

Must demonstrate a positive, non‑judgmental, accepting attitude toward the patient population.

Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check.

Salary Range Salary ranges from $28.08 to $29.08 an hour. The final hourly rate will be determined by experience, education, specialty and training.
