Job Overview We are seeking a qualified Interventional Radiology Technologist for a 13-week travel assignment in Mountain View, California. The role involves supporting physicians in minimally invasive procedures using advanced imaging technology while ensuring patient safety, radiation safety, and high standards of care.
Responsibilities
Prepare and position patients for IR procedures, ensuring comfort & safety.
Operate imaging equipment: fluoroscopy, CT, ultrasound to guide procedures.
Assist physicians by scrubbing in, passing instruments, maintaining sterile field.
Monitor and document vital signs and procedural details.
Administer contrast media and monitor for adverse reactions.
Ensure radiation safety measures for patients, staff, and self.
Maintain and troubleshoot imaging equipment, ensuring readiness.
Manage and restock procedural supplies (catheters, guidewires, contrast).
Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and other team members.
Follow infection control, safety, and regulatory protocols.
Provide patient education before, during, & after procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned to support IR lab operations.
Adhere to hospital safety protocols and regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 1 year recent experience as an IR Technologist.
Valid ARRT or RCIS/RCES certification compliant with state regulations.
Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
Preferred Qualifications
Current ACLS certification (AHA/ARC).
Valid state radiologic technologist license.
PALS or ENPC certification.
Any additional certifications or licenses relevant to the position.
Essential Skills
Critical thinking and problem solving.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Proficiency in reading and following written & verbal instructions.
Strong computer/PC skills.
Physical ability to remain stationary and move equipment (50-100 lbs).
Ability to work effectively under pressure, with close supervision or independently.
Visual acuity and effective communication.
