Job Overview Orion Systems Engineer (Cross Program Integration) – support the MTIC contract embedded with NASA-JSC. Batrios, a woman-owned small business and NASA’s largest engineering solutions provider, seeks a dedicated engineer to help advance human space exploration and the science of the universe.

Responsibilities

Represent the Orion Program in cross‑program integration activities with other Artemis programs (Gateway, HLS) – creating Interface Control Documents (ICDs), integrating cross‑program data exchange, and collaborating with design organizations.

Apply systems engineering principles to define multidisciplinary requirements and perform product development and integration.

Provide technical systems knowledge and expertise at Orion program milestones and reviews, and represent Orion at other Artemis program milestone reviews.

Utilize knowledge of the NASA human spaceflight life cycle to support Orion system integration activities – architectural trade studies, mission concept of operations for future Artemis missions, and authoring and reviewing integrated technical and engineering documents.

Establish working relationships with stakeholders within Orion and integrated Artemis programs, including NASA leads, system managers, commercial teammates, and international partners.

Perform other duties as required.

Required Education / Experience / Skills

BS Degree in Engineering from an accredited engineering school plus five (5) years of appropriate work experience.

OR five (5) years of degree plus ten (10) years of appropriate experience.

Experience with Human Space Exploration programs (Gateway, ISS, Orion, etc.).

Applied knowledge of product life cycle development, systems engineering and integration principles, and strong working knowledge of related engineering disciplines.

Excellent written and verbal communication, integration, coordination, and presentation skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with customers and stakeholders.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint).

Preferred Education / Experience / Skills

Project management or other leadership experience.

INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional Certification.

Master of Science degree in Systems Engineering or equivalent.

Knowledge of systems, tools, or initiatives that promote digitization of systems engineering (requirements management software such as DOORS, JAMA, etc.; workflow management software such as JIRA, Confluence; model‑based systems engineering software such as Cameo, MagicDraw).

Experience with innovation or process improvement projects and initiatives.

Ability to independently manage multiple tasks concurrently.

Essential Requirements

Must be a U.S. citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation.

Work may involve sitting for extended periods; may require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs.

Must have sufficient mobility to enter areas of test facilities where necessary; generally an office environment, but may involve inside or outside work depending on tasks.

Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, fax, etc.) will be provided.

Regular attendance in accordance with the established work schedule is critical; ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust to peak periods and surge requirements may be required.

Must work well in a team atmosphere and demonstrate professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation.

Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.

This position may require some commuting and traveling to other installations as needed.
