Job Summary The Senior Mechanical Engineer will work in a fast‑paced multi‑discipline team environment responsible for designing building systems and producing construction documentation for institutional projects in the higher education, government and institutional facility markets. In this role you won’t just manage mechanical HVAC engineering projects – you’ll drive them forward as an integral part of our cross‑functional teams, turning ambitious ideas into reality. Along the way, you’ll cultivate strong client partnerships, orchestrate every phase from concept to completion, and ensure flawless execution.
General Duties
Design HVAC systems including chillers, boilers, air handling units, ductwork, piping and controls
Develop mechanical system design calculations
Produce mechanical HVAC design drawings using Revit software
Perform QA/QC design work
Lead project teams and manage projects
Coordinate with owners, architects, and other disciplines
Conduct code compliance research
Guide and mentor junior engineers
Support business development and client relationships
Skills
Proficiency in Revit
Demonstrated experience coordinating design with multiple disciplines and stakeholders
Solid understanding of HVAC systems layout, fixture selection, and equipment specifications
Knowledge of codes, standards and design guidelines
Ability to lead a team as well as work as part of a team
Qualifications
+8 years of mechanical HVAC experience
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field is preferred but not required
Professional Engineer license, P.E. preferred
LEED experience, certification a plus
Location Baton Rouge, LA or New Orleans, LA
Travel Minimal
