Summary/Description The Department of Pharmacy Practice at the University of Illinois Chicago Retzky College of Pharmacy seeks a Clinical Instructor/Clinical Pharmacist for the Wood Street Pharmacy ambulatory unit. The practice site is a mail‑order and specialty pharmacy serving patients Monday through Friday. The candidate should be a full‑time team player with strong oral and written communication skills, the ability to work independently, and adapt to a changing environment. Excellent time‑management, organizational skills, and a commitment to patient care are essential. Knowledge of USP 797 and 800 compliance is preferred.

Duties

Provide didactic instruction and clinical experiential teaching/training for the Doctor of Pharmacy program and precept PGY1 and PGY2 residents.

Work closely with pharmacy technicians, students, medical staff, and patients to deliver patient‑centered clinical pharmacy services.

Accurately review and verify medication orders, counsel patients, and resolve medication issues with health care providers.

Ensure all regulatory requirements are met, direct pharmacy technician activities, serve as a resource for clinic‑based staff on medication‑related questions, and assist with mail‑out activities.

Minimum Qualifications

Licensed, or eligible for licensure as a professional pharmacist in Illinois at the start date.

Graduate of an ACPE accredited College of Pharmacy PharmD program.

Candidate must possess knowledge and skills qualifying for a non‑tenured clinical faculty position (Clinical Instructor) at UIC.

Preferred Qualifications

Three (3) years of prior pharmacy experience.

Previous pharmacy management experience.

Demonstrated knowledge and experience with USP 797 and 800 compliance and standards in a hospital or clinical setting.

Working knowledge of the programs serviced in the pharmacy.
