Position Summary Stony Brook Medicine is recruiting for a dynamic Speech Language Pathologist. As a valued member of our team, the selected candidate will work collaboratively to provide inpatient and outpatient hospital‑based services. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with SLPs, ENTs and other medical specialists in a multidisciplinary setting.

Responsibilities

Swallowing, voice and communication evaluations and treatment, including tracheostomy and speaking valve management, for inpatient and outpatient pediatric through older adult.

Objective assessments to include stroboscopy and/or videofluoroscopic swallow studies/flexible endoscopic evaluation of swallowing.

Qualifications

Required:

MA or MS in Speech Language Pathology, NYS License in Speech Language Pathology, ASHA CCC‑SLP. Minimum of 1 year experience as a Speech Language Pathologist in a medical setting including acute care, acute/subacute rehab, SNF/long‑term care or an ENT/outpatient hospital practice. Candidates must meet the requirements of the Medical Staff Office for staff privileges.

Preferred:

Interest in providing comprehensive voice services including professional voice care; experience with evidence‑based rehabilitative voice techniques; proficiency performing objective swallowing assessments (video swallow studies and fiberoptic endoscopic evaluation of swallowing).
