Assistant Professor in Chemistry and Biochemistry
Position #40070687. The College of Science and Mathematics, Chemistry and Biochemistry department at Augusta University is seeking multiple Assistant Professor candidates, anticipating beginning in Fall 2024. These positions are not tenure track.
Responsibilities
Teach introductory general chemistry, chemistry for non‑majors, and organic chemistry, including lectures and labs.
Deliver core science courses in organic, biochemistry, analytical, physical, and inorganic chemistry to undergraduate and graduate students.
Conduct research and scholarly activities, publishing and presenting in chemistry and biochemistry, involving undergraduate science majors and instructing graduate students in development.
Serve on department, college, and university committees, work groups, and campaigns to promote and support Augusta University’s mission.
Required Qualifications
Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Education, or a closely related field.
Evidence of teaching ability.
Evidence of scholarly activity in chemistry and biochemistry.
Ability to perform all other duties assigned.
Desirable personal qualities judged on interview, biographical data, and recommendations.
Preferred Qualifications
Postdoctoral position and prior classroom teaching experience.
Shift/Salary/Benefits Academic year‑based employment, August through May. Full‑time equivalent (FTE) 1.0. Salary commensurate with education, experience, and achievements, subject to availability of funds.
