About the Role
We are hiring a highly skilled Network Systems Engineer / IT Infrastructure Manager to independently manage full IT operations for a technology-driven engineering firm. This role combines strategic planning with hands-on technical work, supporting a hybrid Windows and Linux environment in a fast-paced, engineering-focused organization.
Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain IT infrastructure across Linux and Windows systems
Configure and manage servers, routers, switches, firewalls, and access points
Troubleshoot network, system, and end-user issues
Oversee Microsoft 365, Exchange, Active Directory, DNS, and SSO
Implement cybersecurity standards (NIST 800-171, CMMC 2.0)
Establish data protection, encryption, and backup strategies
Manage IT procurement, planning, and system upgrades
Support and optimize engineering applications (SolidWorks, ANSYS, MATLAB)
Must-Have Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field
5+ years of hands-on IT systems and infrastructure management
Strong experience with Linux and Windows Server environments
Microsoft 365, Exchange, Active Directory, DNS, and SSO expertise
Scripting or automation skills using Ansible, Bash, or Python
Experience with networking (servers, routers, switches)
Cybersecurity experience with NIST 800-171 or CMMC 2.0
Ability to function as a one-person IT department
Preferred Skills
CCNA or similar certification
Docker or Kubernetes familiarity
MySQL or database management
Experience with HPC or data science infrastructure
Python scripting knowledge
