Project Engineer for Large commercial and municipal project
Scott Humphrey
has partnered with a
large and reputable general contractor
to assist in finding a Project Engineer and Senior Project Engineer for their headquarters in Houston. As a Project Engineer, you will be an integral part of a team that oversees the construction of commercial and municipal projects, including new construction; project quality control, subcontractor coordination, daily logs/project documentation, safety, and inspections.
Responsibilities
Provide technical and administrative support to ensure successful project execution.
Support the development, maintenance, and distribution of project estimates and bids.
Assist in developing and updating project schedules; communicate updates with subcontractors and owners.
Contribute to the review, development, and issuance of subcontracts and change orders.
Develop working knowledge of cost book, financial management tools, and change order processes.
Understand and support compliance with owner contracts and company quality standards.
Manage administrative tasks including RFIs, submittals, and pricing/change order tracking.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive resolution of project issues.
Identify project risks and assist in creating risk mitigation plans.
Promote safety by supporting implementation of OSHA and company safety standards.
Mentor and develop project interns as part of team support.
Apply company's core values throughout all phases of project support.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field; 2+ years of experience in construction or project engineering.
Basic understanding of construction sequencing, build processes, and project administration.
Familiarity with onscreen takeoff tools (OST, SmartBid, Destini or equivalent), BlueBeam, scheduling software, Microsoft Office Suite, and construction document management.
Strong communication, collaboration, and problem‑solving skills.
