DevSecOps Engineer Location:

Atlanta, GA (on site 2x per week)

Overview Work with our growing DevSecOps practice delivering features to support cloud and application development. Candidates should have 3‑5 years experience with cloud platform services and DevSecOps practices such as build/release management, CI/CD and process automation.

Responsibilities

Establish development tools and infrastructure for automation.

Understand stakeholders’ needs and convey them to developers.

Automate and improve development, testing, deployment, and release processes.

Test and examine code written by others, analyzing results.

Ensure systems are safe and secure against cyber‑security threats.

Identify technical problems, perform root‑cause analysis, and develop software updates and fixes.

Work with software developers and engineers to ensure development follows established processes.

Support enterprise cloud applications or infrastructure through infrastructure‑as‑code, including automated server/network configuration, large‑scale deployments, and monitoring and testing such as CI/CD.

Document the current state of the environment, perform a gap analysis, and produce artifacts that articulate options and recommendations.

Leverage virtualization and containerization to optimize and modernize software systems.

Act as an individual contributor and mentor junior team members.

Work with teams to bring continuous improvement to DevSecOps processes and tools.

Engineer and implement solutions and provide recommendations for continuous improvement of services.

Present regular status updates and provide cross‑training to other DevOps team members.

Required Qualifications

Ability to obtain a U.S. government Security Clearance.

BS Degree in an IT field OR BS in a non‑IT field with 2 years related IT experience.

3 years experience with one or more clouds (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

3 years experience with Git SCM providers such as GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket.

3 years experience with one or more programming or scripting languages.

3 years application DevSecOps experience with active development in an Agile environment.

3 years experience implementing Docker containers and utilizing platforms such as Kubernetes.

3 years experience implementing infrastructure‑as‑code and orchestration.

3 years experience building CI/CD pipelines with tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Pipelines, CircleCI, TravisCI.

3 years experience integrating deployments with industry‑standard DevSecOps tooling and orchestration.

Experience integrating test automation—performance, security, and functional tests—into CI/CD pipelines.

Local to the Atlanta Metro area.

Required to be onsite 2x per week.

Preferred Qualifications

Certifications: AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Microsoft Certified Azure Developer Associate, SAFe DevOps Certification.

Experience implementing automated testing frameworks, including Selenium.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills.

Experience documenting as‑is state of an environment, performing gap analysis, and producing artifacts.

Experience scripting in Concourse, Bash, PowerShell, Python, Groovy, or Ruby.

Experience with automation tools such as Pivotal, Chef, Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.

About Steampunk Steampunk relies on several factors to determine salary, including but not limited to geographic location, contractual requirements, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience. The projected compensation range for this position is $90,000 to $165,000. Annual salary is just one aspect of Steampunk’s total compensation package for employees.
