Job Description As a CSDM/CMDB Business Analyst you will be responsible for bridging the gap between business needs and technical solutions within the ServiceNow platform, focusing specifically on managing and maintaining the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) according to the Common Service Data Model (CSDM) best practices. This role ensures data integrity, supports IT Service Management (ITSM) processes, and helps align IT architecture with business goals.
Key Responsibilities
Organize functional workshops with Service Owners and business stakeholders.
Generate and analyze CSDM / CMDB reports.
Document ownership, lifecycle, service and application relationships, governance changes, and requirements captured during workshops in the form of user stories for development and operational teams.
Track assigned actions and drive them to resolution, ensuring timely completion of deliverables.
Support remediation of misaligned applications and offerings.
Validate CSDM and CMDB updates to ensure data accuracy and alignment with defined standards.
Develop and maintain documentation, playbooks, and guidance for operational teams and Service Owners and Support Staff.
Required Experience
3–5 years working with ServiceNow CSDM, CMDB, or ITSM processes.
Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into technical stories.
Strong understanding of CSDM hierarchies, ownership models, and service lifecycles.
Experience writing clear documentation that supports both business and technical teams.
Experience with ServiceNow group functionality and alignment with Service Offerings.
Ability to work with cross-functional stakeholders and resolve conflicting priorities.
Strong process documentation, workflow mapping, and facilitation skills.
