About the Job The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Neurosciences seeks a full‑time, board‑certified Ophthalmologist. The position includes an active clinical practice at the M Health Fairview Clinics and Surgery Center in Minneapolis, MN.
The role involves supervising, mentoring and teaching medical students, residents and fellows, developing curriculum, and participating in research projects and other academic activities.
Successful candidates will also engage in faculty development activities tailored to their career interests and goals.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited ACGME Ophthalmology residency and fellowship training program in medical retina
Board eligible or certified with the American Board of Ophthalmology
Licensed or able to obtain the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice license
Ability to obtain/maintain DEA certification in Minnesota
Meet threshold criteria for Credentialing and Privileges
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Exceptional collaboration abilities with partners and staff
Understands and places importance on patient care/service
About the Department The Department’s missions are teaching, research, service, and provision of excellent clinical care. Primary academic missions include teaching medical students, post‑M.D. trainees (residents and fellows) and allied health students, and advancing knowledge in ophthalmology through basic scientific and clinical research.
Pay and Benefits Pay Range : Dually employed by the University of Minnesota and University of Minnesota Physicians. University salary begins at $58,000, with total salary for an Assistant Professor of $300,000. Clinical salary aligns with clinical effort.
Time Appointment : 100% Appointment
