Selby Jennings is partnered with a Mid‑Market Investment Bank seeking an Investment Banking Managing Director covering Metal & Mining/Industrials. This bank is in build mode, looking to bring high performing Managing Directors who can leverage their platform and balance sheet for M&A and Capital Markets transactions. Ideal candidates are current Investment Banking Managing Directors in with a book of business capable of generating $3MM-$7MM+ across M&A or Capital Markets, and located in or open to relocate to Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, or Atlanta/Arlington.

Key Responsibilities

Origination & Business Development:

Develop and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, private equity firms, and institutional investors in the metals and mining industry.

Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including M&A, capital raising, and strategic advisory mandates.

Transaction Execution:

Lead deal teams through all phases of transaction execution, including valuation, due diligence, structuring, and negotiations.

Ensure high-quality deliverables and client satisfaction throughout the process.

Leadership & Team Development:

Mentor and manage junior bankers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.

Contribute to recruiting and talent development initiatives within the group.

Industry Expertise:

Stay ahead of market trends, commodity pricing, and regulatory developments impacting metals and mining.

Provide thought leadership and insights to clients and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

Experience:

Minimum 12+ years in investment banking with a strong track record in metals and mining transactions.

Education:

Bachelor's degree required; MBA or equivalent preferred.

Skills:

Proven ability to originate and execute complex transactions.

Strong leadership and team management capabilities.

Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.

Network:

Established relationships with key decision-makers in the metals and mining sector.
