Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and driven
Professional Land Surveyor Manager (PLS Manager)
to lead our Survey Department and help expand our surveying services in the Evansville region and beyond. This is an excellent opportunity for a licensed surveyor who enjoys managing diverse projects, mentoring staff, and working closely with a talented, multi‑disciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and oversee boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, construction layout, right‑of‑way, bathymetric, and UAV surveys.
Supervise and coordinate survey crews and office staff, ensuring quality, accuracy, and efficiency in field and office operations.
Prepare and review legal descriptions, plats, maps, and survey deliverables.
Develop and manage project scopes, budgets, schedules, and proposals.
Collaborate with clients, engineers, architects, and internal teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Perform quality control reviews, verify field measurements, and ensure work complies with company standards and industry best practices.
Mentor, train, and develop junior staff in technical and professional skills.
Support client relationships and business development efforts to grow our surveying practice.
Qualifications
Active Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in Indiana (or the ability to obtain within 6 months). Licensure in surrounding states is a plus.
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or a related field (preferred).
Minimum 5–16 years of progressive land surveying experience, including project management and crew leadership.
Proficiency with Trimble, Carlson, or similar surveying equipment and software.
Proficiency with Civil 3D, Carlson Survey, or similar CAD software.
Experience with UAV (drone) and bathymetric surveys is desirable.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
