Summary The Group & Event Sales Manager is responsible for selling small group business (10–25 rooms on peak) and for selling and servicing local catering events. This role focuses on generating revenue through Banquet Food & Beverage, guest room blocks, and event planning services while delivering an exceptional and seamless customer experience.

Primary Responsibilities
Solicit, negotiate, and secure small group business while maximizing revenue opportunities for guest rooms, meeting space, and ancillary hotel services.
Conduct site inspections, prepare and present professional proposals, and close business in alignment with Hyatt brand standards.
Manage assigned accounts through all stages of the sales cycle—including prospecting, contracting, pre‑arrival planning, and post‑event follow‑up.
Maintain accurate and organized documentation, reports, and correspondence using Hyatt sales systems and tools.
Sell and service local catering events, including social and corporate functions.
Lead all aspects of event detailing such as menu planning, agenda creation, setup requirements, and coordination of hotel meeting services.
Review contracts thoroughly and ensure accuracy in all event documentation.
Serve as the primary contact for clients before, during, and after their events to ensure the highest level of service and guest satisfaction.
Facilitate communication across hotel departments including culinary, banquet, rooms, and AV teams to ensure flawless event execution.
Host client site visits and hotel tours, demonstrating product knowledge and an engaging, customer‑focused approach.
Build and maintain strong customer relationships to encourage repeat business and long‑term loyalty.
Participate in and occasionally lead event meetings, sales meetings, and cross‑departmental staff meetings.
Collaborate as a proactive and positive team member with the sales, events, and catering teams.
Work closely with an assigned Administrative Assistant and support staff to ensure timely, efficient correspondence and service delivery.
Salary The salary range for this position is $66,100 to $95,700.

Qualifications
Refined verbal and written communication skills.
A minimum of 1–3 years of hotel sales or comparable experience preferred.
Prior hotel sales or event management experience preferred, with strong understanding of the hotel sales process and event operations.
Proven ability to sell, negotiate, and manage multiple accounts.
Exceptional communication, organizational, and presentation skills.
Ability to develop strong client relationships and work collaboratively with internal teams.
Proficiency in Hyatt systems or similar CRM and event‑management tools preferred.
Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
