Collins Aerospace is seeking a Senior Product Quality Engineer to support our fire suppression product portfolio at Wilson, NC. In this role, you’ll provide technical expertise and drive quality excellence across manufacturing and development processes to ensure product integrity, compliance, and customer satisfaction. This position is ideal for a quality professional seeking career growth in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment. As an individual contributor, you’ll influence the development, application, and improvement of quality systems and protocols that uphold Collins’ commitment to operational excellence.
What You Will Do
Develop, modify, apply and maintain quality evaluation, control systems and protocols for manufacturing products.
Ensure that projects and/or process control documentation are compliant with requirements, objectives and/or contracts.
Review and make recommendations for Quality Assurance plans, guidelines, policies, and processes to ensure the achievement of Quality targets.
Collect and analyze data for the development of quality strategy and programs to ensure ongoing reductions in Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) and escapes.
Perform escape management procedures and lead teams to investigate the root cause of customer escapes and non‑conformances as well as implement corrective/preventive actions.
Provide technical guidance and support and maintain a strong working relationship with the inspection and operations teams.
Develop new inspection technologies or methodologies to assure product conformance.
Do PPAP core elements (e.g. PFMEA, MSA, Process Flow, and Control Plans) to identify and make recommendations for managing risk in product development.
Participate in internal, customer, and third‑party regulatory audits.
Support Material Review Board (MRB) activities.
Support review and implementation of engineering change orders.
Other duties as required.
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field.
Manufacturing experience.
Qualifications We Prefer
Experience with root cause analysis and MRB.
Six Sigma/Lean deployment and process improvement experience (green belt preferred).
AS9100 experience.
GD&T knowledge.
Experience with SAP and ETQ ideal.
Mechanical engineering experience.
Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.

Salary range: $82,000–$164,000 USD.
