Registered Nurse (RN) Inpatient Rehabilitation
Inova Mount Vernon Hospital is seeking a Rehabilitation Registered Nurse to join the Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit. This position is Full Time Day Shift.

Registered Nurse Job Responsibilities
Performs patient assessments to collect basic data, follows written plans of care, standards, and practice guidelines while utilizing pathways under the supervision of an experienced RN, and utilizes assessment data and patient preferences to identify patient care needs.
Organizes, prioritizes, and delivers patient care to assigned patients by utilizing Inova's Nursing Professional Practice Model and Care Delivery Model, monitoring patients' progress toward expected outcomes and adjusting plans of care accordingly.
Provides compassionate, empathetic hands‑on care while maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality.
States rationale for clinical decisions based on educational knowledge, principles, and evidence‑based practices.
Works efficiently within the healthcare team to achieve maximum productivity and identified outcomes.
Accurately documents all patient care activities, as per documentation standards, and seeks assistance from others to further develop documentation skills.
Participates in multidisciplinary rounds and meetings as an active member of the healthcare team.
Successfully integrates novice nursing abilities with new knowledge and the capacity to incorporate and transfer these skills into the delivery of safe, high‑quality patient care, while seeking validation of clinical decisions from unit resources.
Attends and participates in all learning sessions assigned for successful completion of the Registered Nurse (RN) Fellowship.
May serve as a preceptor following appropriate orientation and competency completion.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Registered Nurse Requirements
Work schedule: 12‑hour days (7 am – 7 pm).
Education: BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associate’s Degree (ADN), must complete BSN within five years of start date.
Experience: A minimum of one year of Registered Nurse clinical experience. This position will consider RN's with LTC, Rehab, Home Health, and Outpatient experience.
Certification: Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multi‑state Registered Nurse license. Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association (AHA).
RN Rehab Preferred Qualifications
Prior inpatient or sub‑acute rehabilitation nursing or medical/surgical / Med/Surg Tele unit experience.
