MED-Ophthalmology Salary/Grade:

EXS/5 Target hiring range for this position will be between: $51,346-$59,846 per year. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.> Coordinates multiple clinical research studies, performing related tasks such as Best Corrected Visual Acuity (BCVA) measurements and other related ophthalmic research activities. Collects information, recruits, screens, selects, determines eligibility, and enrolls study participants and ensures subjects follow the research protocol. Ensures that all study activities, including start-up and close-out, are completed by strictly following Good Clinical Practices (GCP) and all local, state, and federal laws, regulations, guidance, policy, and procedures developed by the NU Institutional Review Board (IRB), FDA Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), and ICH. Note: Not all aspects of the job are covered by this job description. Specific Responsibilities

Schedules logistics, determines workflows, and secures resources for assigned ophthalmology clinical research trial(s). Recruits, screens, selects, determines eligibility, obtains consent, and enrolls trial participants, collects information, and answers questions under the supervision of a medically licensed professional. Performs basic medical assessments after required training/certifications, including Best Corrected Visual Acuity, collecting vital signs, obtaining weight, and performing phlebotomy. Manages research workflow components and related administrative duties, collects, prepares, processes, and submits participant data and samples, adhering to protocols, reporting adverse events, and maintaining billing records. Identifies work unit resource needs and manages supply and equipment inventory levels. Serves as an initial point of contact for clinical research participants and staff, providing information on procedures and protocol adherence, and alerts the Principal Investigator of issues. Acts as a mentor in educating junior coordinators. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications

Successful completion of a full 4‑year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor’s or higher degree in a major such as social or health science or related field, OR an appropriate combination of education and experience and 2 years’ research study or other relevant experience.
