Overview We are currently looking for a full-time Laminator Assistant Operator. The role requires interpreting job instructions to ensure the successful setup and run conditions of the laminating machine to produce multi‑ply structures of laminated material. The operator sets and adjusts control settings, performs safety checks, and troubleshoots problems during equipment operation. They lead, support, coach, and train assigned crew to ensure safety, efficiency, and quality during all phases of the setup and run processes, acting as a safety leader.

Shift 1st shift (Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:00 pm)

Compensation The compensation for this position is $19.90 per hour. Selected candidates will also be eligible for benefits in accordance with local United States payroll regulations.

Responsibilities

Support a healthy and safe work environment following all workplace regulations, policies, and initiatives, including reporting all first aid injuries, accidents, and workplace hazards.

Ensure compliance with all PPE and Food Safety policies and procedures, wearing steel‑tipped shoes, hearing protection, safety glasses, hairnets, beard nets, and safety gloves.

Maintain a clean and organized work area free from hazards.

Prepare for upcoming jobs and perform changeovers with the laminator crew.

Collaborate with the crew to ensure all required materials, tools, and supplies are staged and ready for production.

Organize tasks and crew assignments in performing job setups and changeovers from start to completion, ensuring optimal efficiency and accuracy while minimizing waste.

Assist in the following tasks:

Identify and understand crew requirements

Assemble and maintain doctor blades

Start adhesive flow and wash down.

Start coating flow and wash down

Install and remove Anilox cylinders

Care, clean, change, and maintain impression sleeves and transfer rollers.

Ensure care for machine parts, tools, cleaning, and changing of impression sleeves.

Load/setup raw material to Laminator according to job specifications.

Prepare/dispose of adhesives and solvents per protocol.

Track and record material usage.

Inspect print quality and report potential defects to the operator.

Inspect adhesive and laminate quality and communicate possible problems.

Prepare and enter daily production reports as required.

Train, coach, and mentor assistants and helpers.

Troubleshoot and correct problems affecting machine performance, quality, waste, and throughput.

Ensure care and maintenance of equipment and perform assigned preventive maintenance tasks.

Participate in Continuous Improvement projects.

Perform other related work as required.

Qualifications

Reading and writing skills corresponding to the level of High School Diploma or equivalent.

3 years of previous experience as a Laminator Operator or Assistant producing multi‑ply structures of laminated material.

Ability to read a ruler.

Ability to read and interpret job orders and specifications written in English.

Ability to perform calculations involving decimals and fractions.

Ability to operate a stopwatch.

Ability to use hand tools, such as wrenches and screwdrivers.

Customer oriented.

Motivated and collaborative within a team environment.

Must be able to problem‑solve and communicate effectively.

Good work ethic; attendance and punctuality.

Effective communication skills.

Shift flexibility and ability to support overtime requirements.
