The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring consistent application of quality techniques, providing statistical information for quality improvement, and investigating, analyzing, and resolving quality problems.

Key Responsibilities
Provide statistical analysis of process behavior through the use of applicable statistics, quality tools, and software.
Identify and record problems relating to the product lines, initiate actions to prevent the recurrence of any nonconformities relating to products and processes.
Assist in the evaluation and qualification of new product designs and new supplier materials via a defined new product development process.
Monitor and support site quality objectives by maintaining metrics, and report these on a monthly basis.
Lead performance improvement projects in an effort to increase facility capability to consistently meet Knowles and customer requirements.
Participate in documentation review, approval, revision, or creation as necessary to ensure processes are properly documented.
Assist in rapid cycle times for site-related customer complaints.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics)
ASQ and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt is a plus.
2 years minimum experience working in a factory certified to AS9100 or ISO 9001.
Experience with various quality system improvement tools, including 8D, Lean Six Sigma, 5 Whys, Pareto Analysis, FEMA Kaizen, Cpk, Fishbone, etc.
Related experience in a manufacturing environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Work well in a high-volume production environment with minimal supervision.
Project management experience.
Experience with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Minitab, and ERP/MRP systems.
Ability to travel to suppliers, customers, or corporate meetings.
Ability to remain in a stationary position examining parts under a microscope.
Ability to lift about 25-30 lbs.
Ability to manipulate small parts under microscope using a pair of tweezers.
