As a Diesel Mechanic - Customer Equipment Solutions (Service Tech II - CES), you will perform maintenance and repairs on customer‑owned equipment in a safe and professional manner.
You can improve and challenge yourself, and if you have the desire and ambition, you may work toward higher level Tech roles in our Service Department.
You will provide exceptional customer service to our customers.
Working Schedule Monday Thru Thursday – 4 ten‑hour shifts
What You’ll Do
Perform maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of customer equipment and tools
Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner on a daily basis
Upsell and demonstrate a wide array of complex equipment for customers
When required, travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance of customer‑owned equipment; maintain service vehicle in a clean and professional manner
Assist with pick‑up and delivery of equipment & parts
Other duties as assigned
Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent
Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
1‑2 years of experience repairing/maintaining vehicles and equipment, or trade‑school graduate
Must own tools applicable to the position
Knowledge of construction equipment and basic understanding of schematics and diagrams
Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills
Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.
Position is deemed Safety‑Sensitive for United Rentals’ policies and procedures.
