Job Summary As a Satellite Support MGSE Engineer you will be responsible for designing and analyzing mechanical test, integration and assembly fixtures, and creating part/assembly drawings to assist in the assembly and testing of our satellite systems. You will work closely with other engineering teams, such as: ATLO (Assembly, Test, and Launch Ops), program management, and manufacturing to understand component and satellite design to develop integration, test and assembly fixtures, and MGSE assembly drawings on schedule and within budget.
This position’s internal job code is Equipment & Tool Engineer. Our team is currently hiring for the Levels 1-2.
Responsibilities
Design mechanical test and assembly fixtures per provided design requirements
Compile complete hardware design documentation for test and assembly fixtures, including part and assembly drawings, drawing notes, bill of materials and other associated documentation as needed
Coordinate with programs on schedules, risks, and budgets for all MGSE mechanical designs
Coordinate with manufacturing on EBOMs & MBOMs, released engineering, work orders, and discrepancy reports
Support procurement team and vendors with RFQs, POs, and other associated documentation to ensure timely
Interface with other subsystems for guidance on MGSE designs, including spacecraft mechanical design team, ATLO, propulsion, systems, etc
Provide ongoing support on developed hardware
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent working experience
Methodical design, testing, and troubleshooting capabilities
Must be versatile and able to perform and manage multiple tasks concurrently
Experience using Solidworks or similar CAD software
Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with mechanical analysis software
Experience with environmental test equipment and chambers including Random Vibration, Thermal Oven, and Thermal Vacuum Oven
Experience working in a machine shop environment, including familiarity with lathes, mills, CNC, Drill presses, laser/water jets, etc
Experience designing fixtures for manufacturing and test
Experience with satellite environmental test programs per NASA and MIL-STD requirements
Experience with early life-cycle satellite engineering activities, spacecraft integration and test, and launch operations
Knowledge of operational safety requirements
Active TS/SCI clearance
Summary Pay-Range Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only of what is reasonably expected to be paid for the position. Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Level 1: $66,300 - $97,500
Level 2: $81,600 - $120,000
