Summary:
We are seeking an Optical Systems Engineer to join our team. This role requires an experienced individual who can drive cross‑functional teams, analyze large datasets, and contribute to the failure analysis of complex systems.
Required Skills:
Lead and coordinate cross‑functional teams comprising members from broad technical backgrounds to deliver project objectives
Design, develop, and optimize camera modules, ambient light sensing (ALS), and other optical sensing solutions for next‑generation products
Collaborate across functions to understand end‑to‑end product requirements and system constraints, and translate them into clear specifications at the component, module, and system levels
Review and analyze large volumes of factory and production data to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement
Conduct and support failure analysis of complex systems, working closely with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams
Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations for both technical and non‑technical stakeholders
Travel internationally about 10%, as needed, to vendors and manufacturing sites to support product development, troubleshooting, and quality assurance activities
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Optical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Optics, or a related engineering field
Minimum 2 years of industrial experience in optical sensing, ambient light sensing, camera or depth module design, or related areas
Proven analytical skills with the ability to review and interpret large datasets
Experience with failure analysis and troubleshooting of complex systems
2+ years of experience with optical sensing technologies such as ambient light sensing (ALS)
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with optical sensor integration in consumer electronics or automotive applications
Experience with the product development cycle of high‑volume consumer electronics
Knowledge of manufacturing processes, testing, and quality control in high‑volume production environments for optical/depth sensing modules
