Job Title:
Sr Wi-Fi Engineer
Location:
Miramar, FL (Onsite Monday–Thursday, Remote Friday's)
Travel:
Occasional travel (15–20%) to international destinations (1–2 weeks at a time), including locations such as the Bahamas, Mexico, Chile, and Greece.
Engagement Type:
Long-term contract (6–12 months to start, strong potential to extend)
Job Summary:
Our client is seeking a highly specialized Wi‑Fi / Wireless Network Engineer with deep expertise in RF design, wireless testing, and site surveys. This role is focused exclusively on wireless networking and requires a true subject‑matter expert capable of designing, analyzing, validating, and troubleshooting enterprise Wi‑Fi environments using industry‑standard RF tools. This is not a general network engineering role. The successful candidate will bring hands‑on experience designing wireless networks from the RF layer up and validating performance through formal testing and surveys.
Key Responsibilities
Design and architect enterprise Wi‑Fi networks using RF best practices, capacity planning, and performance‑driven methodologies.
Perform predictive, passive, and active wireless site surveys using Ekahau or equivalent wireless design tools.
Analyze RF conditions, including signal strength, noise, interference, attenuation, and channel utilization, to optimize network performance.
Validate wireless designs through testing and post‑deployment surveys, ensuring coverage, capacity, throughput, and roaming requirements are met.
Troubleshoot complex wireless performance issues related to RF behavior, interference, and environmental factors.
Create and maintain wireless design documentation, site survey reports, heatmaps, and technical findings.
Partner with infrastructure, operations, and business stakeholders to align wireless solutions with operational requirements.
Provide technical guidance and recommendations related to wireless architecture standards and best practices.
Support wireless initiatives across corporate offices and clients' private destinations.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Strong hands‑on experience as a
Wireless / Wi‑Fi Engineer
focused on RF design and analysis
Proven experience using
Ekahau
for wireless design and site surveys OR deep experience with comparable RF tools (e.g., Hamina, AirMagnet)
Demonstrated ability to design enterprise wireless networks, not just deploy hardware
Experience conducting wireless testing, validation, and post‑deployment performance analysis
Strong understanding of
RF fundamentals
(signal propagation, interference, attenuation, channel planning)
Experience working with enterprise wireless infrastructure environments
Ability to clearly communicate technical findings to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting large‑scale or complex environments (hospitality, large campuses, venues, or outdoor deployments)
Background working with wireless professional services teams or manufacturers
Experience supporting globally distributed or travel‑based wireless projects
Industry certifications related to wireless networking (CWNP, Cisco Wireless, Aruba Wireless, etc.)
