Job Description Compensation for this role will be determined by several factors, including years of experience and direct involvement in supporting energy initiatives. The position may require relocation and periodic on‑site work. We welcome applicants from across the country, provided they are flexible and willing to relocate and work on‑site as needed. Location is not yet determined.

Our work on the U.S. Army's Enduring High Energy Laser (E‑HEL) weapon systems program represents a significant investment in the cutting‑edge technology designed to counter emerging threats. We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Systems Engineer to manage the integration and testing of the systems engineering processes for a new project. The position involves providing engineering support to the integration, testing/acceptance and delivery of systems, structures, components, and software. Develops and directs preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures and schedules for completing systems.

Targeted Salary Ranges Systems Test Engineer Mid Levels 2‑3: $73,261 - $130,000 Systems Test Engineer Senior Levels 4‑5: $104,304 - $190,000

Essential Job Responsibilities

Performs system integration and verification / validation testing of system requirements.

Supports technical planning and evaluations of alternatives including cost and risk, supportability, and manufacturability.

Communicates task status with clarity and brevity.

Identifies, articulates, and manages risk.

Manages internal and external relationships.

Creates and maintains various reports.

Collaborates with cross‑functional teams, including electrical, mechanical, software, and test engineers, to ensure a cohesive and effective system design.

Provides technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.

Minimum Qualifications

Mid Level: 2 years relevant experience with a Bachelor’s in a related field; 0 years experience with a Master’s in a related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience.

Mid to Senior Level: 5 years relevant experience with a Bachelor’s in a related field; 3 years relevant experience with a Master’s in a related field; 0 years experience with a PhD or Juris Doctorate; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.

Senior Level: 9 years relevant experience with a Bachelor’s; 7 years with a Master’s; 4 years with a PhD or Juris Doctorate; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience.

Senior Lead Level: 15 years relevant experience with a Bachelor’s; 13 years with a Master’s; 10 years with a PhD or Juris Doctorate; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 19 years relevant experience.

Experience authoring and implementing system test plans and leading system integration efforts.

Experience working within government contracts.

Technical and problem‑solving intuition.

Ability to anticipate and mitigate programmatic implications of system challenges.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with government stakeholders, company leadership, and technical subject matter experts in a wide range of disciplines.

Self‑motivated with strong work ethic.

Clearance: Must be able to obtain a SECRET security clearance.

Preferred Requirements

15 years relevant experience with a Bachelor’s in a related field; 13 years with a Master’s; 10 years with a PhD.

Master’s degree or Ph.D. in a related field.

Experience with Open Systems Architectures.

Experience with system safety, reliability, and maintainability engineering.

Experience managing tasks within budgets.

Experience in risk management, including risk register development.

Experience with hardware and software systems engineering.

Experience working within Department of Defense contracts.

Experience working at Department of Defense testing sites.

Physical Requirements Office, industrial, or shipboard environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances. Lifting and moving materials may be required.
