The Sue Gin Scholarship Program (SGSP) Associate Director for Scholarship Success Initiatives plays a vital role within the leadership and organizational structure of the Office of Multicultural Student Success (OMSS). This position advances the University’s mission by supporting the retention, success, and engagement of donor-funded scholarship recipients. In addition, the Associate Director ensures the effective execution of the Sue Gin Scholarship Program and Gift Agreement, elevating their impact while fostering academic excellence, leadership development, and student success. What You’ll Do
Case Management : Manage the inaugural Sue Gin Scholarship student portfolio, serving as the primary internal care specialist for donor-funded scholarship recipients. Coordinate an institutional support team that includes representatives from Financial Aid, Admissions, Housing & Residence Life, Career Services, Donor Relations, and Mission & Ministry. Oversight of recruitment, selection, campus visits, orientation, coaching, specialized programming, escalated student cases, and crisis response. Supervision : Provide direct supervision and managerial support to the Assistant Director for Scholarship Success and an eight‑person team of part‑time graduate-level professionals, along with leadership support to student employees and interns. Manage approvals, staff development, operations, and compliance. Assessment and Project Management : Develop, facilitate, and assess internal and external donor-funded scholar programs. Produce quarterly academic performance and engagement reports for the Advancement and Donor Relations Team, and maintain student data and reports. Budget and Operations Management : Share responsibility for OMSS department cost‑centers, department budget, Scholarship Spendable and Endowment funds, and Emergency Support funds. Oversee purchasing and reconciliation compliance for direct reports and establish customer service standards. What You’ll Need
Master’s Degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs Administration or a related field (required). 3-5 years of experience in student affairs, including supervision and advising of students facing adversity. Proven advocacy, crisis management, and care response skills. Experience in program evaluation, assessment, and research to measure impact and implement best practices. Strong data management and reporting skills; ability to make data‑informed decisions. Knowledge of student development theory and implementation of high‑impact practices. Commitment to resource stewardship across financial, human, and operational resources. Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends. In‑person position with flexibility for alternative work modalities when operations allow. The anticipated hiring range for this position is: XX to XX. The salary range provided reflects what we reasonably expect to pay; actual compensation offered or earned is dependent on experience, education, and departmental budget. Perks
