Principal Software Test Engineer (Prisma Access) Job Description As a Software Engineer in test on our Prisma Access Cloud Service team, you will design, develop and deliver next‑generation technologies. You will build, automate, and run performance testing scenarios for our products in virtualized environments.

We are looking for highly technical individuals driven to gain hands‑on experience with a wide variety of networking technologies. You will work closely with our development and product management teams, testing and presenting results to identify new approaches.

You will participate in design discussions and help shape the future direction of our software, drive the efficiency and reliability of our products by testing them thoroughly to understand potential risks, bugs or issues, and provide an exemplary product experience for our end users.

Your Impact

Design, develop and execute test automation to test software features on our next‑generation security platform as part of our Prisma Access Cloud Service.

Become inventive in testing approaches by building tools and automation scripts.

Suggest and implement improvements to the test process.

File bugs and work with Development to fix issues seen.

Mix creative skills with a focused testing approach to produce the best quality products in cybersecurity.

Be involved in a rigorous approach to testing for specifications, assisting the team with testing methods or tools for new testing.

Work on different public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) to automate cloud orchestration, visualization and alerting mechanisms.

Qualifications

8+ years of experience.

Proficiency in one or more scripting/programming languages, including Python or Go.

Experience with L4–L7 TCP layers, HTTP, IPSec, BGP, L3 VPNs, SD‑WAN, DHCP, UDP.

Expert level experience with REST API‑driven automation using Python or Go.

Experience with Robot Framework, Pytest, or Kotlin.

Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Experience with DB clusters (MySQL, BQ, Redis, Zookeeper, Neo).

Experience with Linux or ESXi virtualization or Docker/Kubernetes is a plus.

M.S./B.S. degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent military experience required.

Compensation Disclosure The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non‑sales roles) or base salary plus commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $126,000 and $225,500 per year. The offered compensation may also include restricted stock units and a bonus. A description of our employee benefits may be found here.
