We are looking for Algorithm Development Engineers to join our growing Algorithms & Data Science Group within the Automotive Business Unit’s Advanced Technology Team (AAT). The role focuses on creating a new class of Battery Management System (BMS) algorithms and architectures to improve battery utility across automotive, energy, and other sectors.
Responsibilities
Create advanced BMS algorithms by combining novel sensor technology, electro‑chemistry, mathematics, data, and AI, tailored to the Automotive Business Unit’s strategy.
Develop software simulations and analyze algorithm performance.
Collaborate with researchers and engineers inside and outside AAT to align work with broader business goals.
Lead or contribute to prototyping efforts and build proof‑of‑concept test environments.
Work with domain experts to define, understand, and clarify problem statements.
Derive core mathematical expressions for problems of interest.
Implement algorithms with multidisciplinary product development teams at ADI.
Engage customers, customers’ partners, and research institutions to identify value‑creating opportunities.
Serve as a lead contributor to technical execution of projects.
Communicate results and action plans clearly, both verbally and in writing.
Stay abreast of state‑of‑the‑art algorithms, research advances, and emerging technologies.
Required Skillset
Master’s degree or equivalent experience, with 8+ years of industrial experience in algorithm and software development.
Experience in Battery Management System algorithm/firmware/software development or validation.
Strong background in at least two of the following areas: algorithm development, machine learning/AI, data analysis, signal processing and filtering methods, control algorithm design, mathematical modeling and simulation.
Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink, Python (Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, Scikit‑learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, etc.) and version‑control tools such as Git.
Critical thinking, collaboration, and independent learning skills.
Desirable Experience
Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
Experience working on multidisciplinary teams.
Experience with AUTOSAR and ASPICE.
PhD in a relevant field.
Experience with big data and electro‑chemical system modeling.
