Transmission Line Engineer (PLS-CADD / PLS-POLE) Join Leidos as a Transmission Line Engineer working on high‑voltage overhead and underground systems for major utilities. You will apply NESC, ASCE, ACI and other standards to design and execute transmission line projects, conduct engineering analyses, prepare bidding and procurement documents, and support quality control.

Key Responsibilities

Execute technical design and engineering tasks for high‑voltage transmission lines, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards.

Prepare and review technical drawings, specifications, and calculations under guidance of Lead Engineers or Project Managers.

Perform engineering analyses, including PLS‑CADD modeling and structure loading calculations.

Contribute to continuous improvement by learning new technical tools, AI and automation platforms.

Communicate and coordinate project progress with the Project Manager to maintain schedule and budget.

Maintain strong technical proficiency in industry software and Leidos design processes.

Required Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or related engineering plus 2+ years of experience in electric utility transmission system design.

Experience using PLS‑CADD and PLS‑POLE.

Team player who can also work independently.

Strong interpersonal and written communication skills; ability to collaborate across client and project teams.

Possibility of client office work and periodic travel.

Desired Experience

Experience with TOWER.

EIT or PE certification.

Experience with LPILE or FAD, Mathcad, AutoCAD or MicroStation, and GIS.

Location Ideal candidates will be located in Michigan, Ohio, West Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, or New Jersey and able to work a hybrid schedule. Fully remote positions are available for qualified candidates. Relocation assistance is provided for those relocating to Walled Lake, MI or Cranberry Township, PA.
