Base pay range $88,000.00/yr - $181,000.00/yr
Hybron Technologies is a defense technology startup pioneering a new manufacturing method for fiber-reinforced polymer composites that enables complex parts to be produced with greater strength, higher quality, and at 10 - 100x the speed of traditional methods.
We were backed by the Northrop Grumman Technology Accelerator, and we are actively fulfilling major purchase orders for the DoD and several major defense primes. Our current focus is applying our proprietary process to artillery shell production – one of the most mission‑critical needs facing the DoD today, and essential to maintaining deterrence.
This is a full‑time, in‑person role at our El Segundo pilot facility. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will own the design, build, and implement Hybron’s composite production lines, standing up rate‑ready lines from pilot to higher volume with stable yields. You will define work instructions, specify jigs and fixtures, set parameters, track yield and cycle time, and drive corrective actions. You will partner closely with quality, machining, and automation to ramp output with stable, repeatable processes.
What we’re looking for
Must be a U.S. Person pursuant to EAR and ITAR definitions
Design, build, and implement production lines, standing up or scaling production lines from pilot to higher volume with stable yields
Build and improve manufacturing processes for composites or advanced fabrication
Write clear work instructions, routings, and travelers with traceability
Line setup and optimization, including takt, line balancing, and changeover reduction
Experience with MRB, ECN, and production documentation hygiene
Willingness to travel within the continental United States for production line bring‑up
Bachelor’s in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, or related field; 4+ years of relevant experience.
Experience with bringing up a product to and through mass production
Experience with 5S implementation
Use SPC, first article, PFMEA, and root cause tools to raise yield and reliability
Nice to Have
Composite manufacturing and design experience
CNC or Manual machining experience
Process design experience, especially in a molding environment
Comfortable specifying tooling and fixtures, and working with vendors or in‑house machining
Experience with ISO 9001 audits
Define the process control plan, data collection, and dashboards for rate and quality
Lead cross‑functional CI efforts with automation and quality to cut cycle time and scrap
Establish supplier and outside‑process workflows that scale with demand
Evaluate and select suppliers based on capabilities, cost, quality, and delivery performance
Manage a team of technicians
