Senior Litigation Counsel – State of Arizona Attorney General Location: 2005 N. Central Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85004. Office Grade: 01. Salary Range: $71,500–$121,000. Remote Work: Eligible for two days a week.

Job Summary The Arizona Attorney General’s Office Civil Litigation Division seeks a Senior Litigation Counsel to identify, evaluate, and investigate consumer fraud and related unlawful conduct and to bring civil enforcement actions on behalf of the State of Arizona.

Responsibilities

Conduct investigations and civil enforcement actions related to consumer fraud.

Serve as section resource, advising attorneys, staff and management on legal matters.

Mentor and provide counsel to junior attorneys in civil investigations and enforcement actions.

Develop cooperation plans to enhance response to litigation emergencies and participate in major litigation.

Draft written and oral legal opinions on consumer protection and advocacy issues.

Assist legislative and community education efforts.

Coordinate with other Attorney General offices in multi‑state litigation and related activities.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of civil procedures, filing deadlines, pleadings, and statutes.

Understanding of consumer fraud statutes and relevant federal and state laws.

Skill in legal research, writing, oral presentation, negotiation, and advocacy.

Ability to analyze complex legal issues and prepare concise legal briefs, memoranda, and correspondence.

Strong interpersonal communication, judgment and ethical standards.

Ability to work under time constraints and to use software common to a modern work environment.

Qualifications

At least five years of civil litigation experience, including representing plaintiffs in complex civil litigation.

Admission to and good standing with the Arizona State Bar (active license required).

Valid Arizona driver’s license; travel required.

Attorney applicants must submit a writing sample analyzing a substantive legal issue.

Complete background check and fingerprinting required prior to a job offer.
