Associate Director, Tax Research and Planning
Join KPMG US as an Associate Director in our Tax Research and Planning team, where you will conduct in‑depth tax research, analyze federal and state returns, and support partner‑level tax services.
Responsibilities
Conduct thorough tax research and analysis related to the preparation of individual federal and state tax returns and partnership schedule K‑1s.
Proactively monitor federal and state legislative developments; model potential impacts and identify strategic tax‑savings opportunities for the firm and its partners.
Document tax research positions and collaborate with firm experts on various federal and state issues to ensure compliance with all tax regulations and deadlines.
Effectively communicate tax technical positions to cross‑functional groups within Firm Taxes.
Respond to inquiries from tax authorities to resolve tax issues efficiently.
Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold KPMG's respectful and courteous work environment.
Qualifications
Minimum seven years of recent federal and state individual tax experience with in‑depth knowledge of partnership federal and state schedule K‑1s.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; preferred master’s degree.
Preferred experience with high net worth individual tax.
Proficient in tax research software such as Westlaw, Bloomberg, and CCH.
Computer proficiency: Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; Excel skills include creating spreadsheets, using formulas, sorting/filtering data, and data analysis.
Detail‑oriented, collaborative, and proactive problem‑solving.
