Position Overview
DCI – District of Columbia International School is hiring a full‑time High School History Teacher to deliver International Baccalaureate (IB) History education during the school year. Responsibilities
Plan and teach IB HS History lessons, using immersion methods to support diverse learners. Deliver high‑quality instruction aligned with the IB History curriculum framework. Advise students and teach an advisory class using the school’s advisory curriculum. Manage classroom learning environment in accordance with the school’s discipline approach to maximize engagement. Work collaboratively with general and special educators, coordinators, and leadership. Proactively manage planning time and implement technology (including 1:1 Chromebooks and G‑Suite tools) to enhance instruction. Take part in professional development, coaching meetings, and external training opportunities. Participate in cultural activities that promote French, Spanish, and Chinese cultures. Fulfill additional duties as assigned. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree is required. Master’s degree in secondary education or the subject area is preferred. Experience teaching history at the secondary level is strongly preferred. Proficiency with multiple technology platforms and G‑Suite tools. Strong written and oral communication skills. Clear a background check. Key Qualities & Skills
