Staff Accountant or Senior Accountant (Public Accounting)
THE CHWAST CPA GROUP, P.C., a full-service accounting firm located in Melville, NY, is dedicated to providing professional, personalized services and guidance to clients throughout the New York Metropolitan area.
Base pay range $60,000.00/yr - $120,000.00/yr
Overview Due to continued growth, we are seeking a dependable, self‑motivated team player with 3+ years of recent public accounting experience to lead tax and accounting engagements. Working closely with clients, responsibilities include:
Prepare individual, corporate and partnership, non‑profit and fiduciary tax returns
Complete tax research and general ledger write‑up
Prepare financial statements, compilations & reviews
Preparation/review of payroll and sales tax returns
Develop and cultivate professional client relationships.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
CPA license or on track to obtain a license
3+ years of recent public accounting experience progressing in scope and responsibility
Strong communication, client service, organizational, analytical and PC skills including accounting software proficiency
Ability to meet deadlines, juggle priorities, prepare tax returns and complete tax research and interact professionally with clients and all levels of staff
