ERM is looking for a Consulting Associate, Biological Technician to join our Capital Project Delivery team in Overland Park, KS. What Your Impact Is

Collect critical biological and environmental data that informs sustainable project design.

Support endangered species protection and habitat conservation efforts.

Contribute to reports and analyses that influence environmental compliance and permitting.

What You’ll Bring Required

BS in biology, ecology, natural resources, wildlife management, soil science, or related field (MS a plus) OR equivalent experience.

1+ years (3+ preferred) in biological or environmental fieldwork.

Excellent writing and grammar for reporting.

Ability to walk up to 10 miles/day in rugged terrain and lift up to 50 lbs.

Comfortable working independently or as part of a team.

Knowledge of ArcGIS Field Maps and Survey123.

GPS data collection and mapping experience.

Driver’s License Required: valid driver’s license and/or ability to operate a company vehicle due to frequent travel to various client locations across a large geographical area.

US citizenship or permanent residency.

Ability to pass a pre‑employment drug screen.

Willingness to travel extensively (50%+), including remote areas for 1–4 weeks.

This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.

Preferred

3+ years of relevant field experience.

Familiarity with environmental permitting processes and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct biological and environmental field surveys, including:

Eagles and raptor surveys

Threatened/endangered species surveys

Bat mist‑netting and acoustic monitoring

Wetland delineations and habitat assessments

Collect field data for permit applications and environmental reports.

Provide GPS mapping support and assist with data management.

Prepare portions of written reports, tables, spreadsheets, databases, and maps.
